Hi Friends and Supporters,

We are excited to share with you the launch of non-profit soccer training organization OC Eclipse Soccer Academy to provide world class technical training for players of all levels in SoCal and internationally. Commencing July 2024, Eclipse Academy founders Abner Rogers, Gary Ireland, and Carine Ireland will provide the finest technical training and long term player development in the USA, offering unique small group technical training sessions designed to supplement players’ existing team practices of youth players of all ages and levels, including players aiming to play in college, internationally and professionally.

Our Advisory Board includes former coaches of the USA, Australia and Canadian National Teams, the Orlando Pride and FIFA Mentor coaches, Juventus FC Head of Individual Technical Development program, Puskas Academy Head of Player Development/Technical Director and supporters including many other professional and US college coaches.

Our motivation for embarking on this exciting project is due to the recognition of our ability to successfully assist in the development of individual players, particularly in the area of technical development and the emphasis we place on the importance of teaching players how to self-train, the hallmark of top players. Eclipse Academy players receive detailed individual attention on specific technical and tactical implementation and be provided with ‘homework’ designed to optimize individual performance. Through world class demonstrations, teaching and corrections by Eclipse coaches, players will develop, acquire and learn through repetition to apply and ritualize technical skills material, including ball-body mastery and sequencing combinations designed to improve balance, mobility and decision making as well as various, dribbling, passing, shooting and receiving techniques.

US women’s soccer aren’t matching the rate of progress of it’s overseas counterparts due to the rapid yet unsurprising improvement of global women’s football. In order to compete US players need more technical development at younger ages. Subsequently there is tremendous demand from players seeking more individual attention/technical development which is rarely provided in team-centric training environments.

Through our wide global football network we have the opportunity to inspire a new generation of US soccer players and bring the global football village to California. Many professional, national team and college coaches want to collaborate with us. Our ties to reputable, successful global football brands and clubs allow us the ability to provide unique bespoke player training and playing opportunities as well as international coach education experiences.

To launch Eclipse Academy, our founders and directors must make substantial personal commitments to investing in field permits, travel related costs, company set up fees, insurance and website. While a majority of players can afford our fees, there are many who cannot. Donating to Eclipse Academy enables us to accommodate every player regardless of their financial position. All donations that are not earmarked for a specific player are tax deductible charitable contributions.

We’re inviting select individuals to be on our Advisory Board consisting of individuals who have supported us and our vision in the past and people who we respect and trust. Donors will be recognized as non-voting supporters/advisors.

Examples of the types of programs your donation supports: Individual Training; Small Group Training; Semi Private; Overseas Training; Summer Training; College Advice/Consulting; Multi-Day Activation Clinic.

Eclipse Academy will translate the best practices of sport and play to promote and foster healthy physical, social, educational and emotional development of young players and provide every player equal opportunity to fully participate and ensure their right to play regardless of financial ability.
